Does anybody know if this will work, all theories welcome!
Hope is Dot fluid,shimano is mineral-you dont want to mix the two.Hope used to do mineral compatible seals for mini's-dunno about tech stuff.
And then there's all the leverage ratios and stuff. You might end up with a rock solid lever or a really mushy feel.
I'd just not bother even thinking about it if I were you!
I'd forgotten about the fluid, I think I'll email Hope, see what they say about the seals, cheers. I thought it might be easy, seems not, easier to type indoors than faff for hours in the garage!
It might work for a time.
But the feel / power may be rubbish and then the seals will probably rot at one end at some point depending what fluid you use. How about a 50/50 mix for Dot4 and mineral to be safe?
This also begs the question "WHY?"
WHY? to paraphrase a well known saying "because there here" I was wondering if they would go together, seems they go together like Shearer and Ashley. An unholy alliance!
Not worth the hassle. No gains that I can see. Pointless. 🙂
Good call PP, the man from Hope he say "no", can't get mineral specific seals for Tech 2, many thanks to all who replied.
