Just trying to rebuild my Scott Spark RC with some shiny new stuff.

It has a press fit shell so I’ve got a Hope BB for it and I’ve got an MT-900 chainset which is an XTR 12s non series as near as dammit. The problem I’m having is that the chainring retaining lock ring is contacting the BB cup and binding even without the left hand crank on and tensioned. I’m struggling to believe the Hope BB is much different to any other BB so trying to work out how to over come the issue, other than using a small spacer on the axle, but then this will bind on the dust shield.

Anyone come across this problem and have a solution, shy of ditching the Hope BB?
