    Every time I’ve looked into it, anything above 2K is just not worth insuring (c. £150 pa), but i’d like to be proved wrong?

    Got a good deal from Amex Insurance. Not insured my bike properly before. Went from Lloyds (£265/y) and added extra £15k contents + £4k bike + £4k watches all for the same price with Amex.
    Worth a try..
