Hi need some help/advice, just went to check the bike for tomorrow’s ride and I can hardly turn the pedals .I took the rear wheel our to check it’s not the freewheel but that all spins fine,so tried turning the cranks and they are really stiff!
It’s an xtr chainset and external bottom bracket .It’s like it’s all been over tightened .It hasn’t been used for a month because I have been out of action from an op,when I think backto my last ride I did seem to struggle and put it down to me being tired but maybe it was on it’s way out then, any idea’s please

bearing have seized (with dirt) inside the cups, do you have hollowtech II tool to remove them?
    if so try… http://www.fettling.co.uk/aspbite/articles/articles.asp?intArticlesID=47
S’not too hard, even a mechanical numpty, like myself has managed it.
I reckon you be able to do it whilst it on the bike, at a push.
