So, a new family addition last year meant that mtb has taken a back seat for the last year or so. I have managed to keep my hand in with some commuting on my trusty Croix but feel compelled to get muddy again now the snow is gone!

My problem is I have lots of bits but no functioning mtb currently, what does the STW hive mind sayeth I should do, I have the following in my shed:

    1 Maxlight hard tail frame
1 Spesh Stumpjumper full sus frame (2004ish)
Most of an LX groupset inc wheels
various bits n bobs of finishing kit
    Set of 90-130 Revs (coil)

Think I will try and cobble a 1×9 set up out of the box of chains/cassettes etc as possibly less chance of skipping etc with dodgey old parts? An alternative would be singlespeed as I have a DMR tension thingy too but not sure my knees fancy that!

Cant decide whether to stick it all on the Maxlight or the Spesh though…

What is the Maxlight frame? I may take it off your hands to solve your decision ? 🙂
I need an XL size (54cm if its an XC3), would prefer an older frame with V brake bosses…

    Cheers

    Mart.
