  • Great North Bialthlon – Sunday 16 June – Route advice Needed

For some reason I’ve entered the Windermere Great Swim this Sunday. Only doing the one mile option but will be family free for the whole day. Should be swam by about noon so that leaves ages for a decent mountain bike ride. The question is which one? The only things I’ve done in that area include:

Grizedale TNF – ok for a few laps, but there must be better stuff surely.
Helvelyn from the North along the ridge was great.
Helvelyn from Glenridding and down Dollywaggon. Pretty pants really, push up and then push most of the way down.
High street from the North – really good day but not that technical.
Four Passes Kentmere – Did a variation on Garburn and some of the other passes last year and it was dire, just a walk with a bike really. Having said which it was a weird variation that we did so I’m sure it’s better if you go the right way.

So, whats the best route to do and does anyone fancy a cycle on Sunday afternoon?

    cheers
