I’m meeting up with my brother “close to the Lego store” in Bristol. He’s just had heart surgery, my hip is fubared. Walking is difficult for both of us. Can anyone suggest a good coffee shop to meet up in at lunch time today?

The Lego store is in a shopping centre with a load of chainy places. Fine if you like that sort of thing. For something a bit more interesting there are some lovely places in St Nicholas Market or Dareshack on the way there is nice. Might be a bit far though. Another option is Sparks which is an eco department store in the old M&S store. Has some quirky shops and art pieces and a coffee shop. There’s also the Phoenix pub very close too if you’d rather do that.

Not sure how close it is, but Small Street Espresso is bloody lovely. My go-to if I’m up there for work.

You’ll be in the depths of Cabots Circus, loads of places to grab a coffee, just have a wander, places like St Nicholas and Small Street are all the way down broadmead, which is a bit of a depressing wander compared to Cabot’s and the top end of broadmead.

You’re not wrong there, I know that end of Broadmead, ‘cos there’s a couple of small music venues I go to, as well as Rough Trade, and I wouldn’t want to walk all down there from Cabot’s Circus!

Thanks folks. In the end we decided against it and headed out of town.
