I’m an avid 6 music listener and I thought I’d done well, booking a holiday in France from Friday for 9 days, thus avoiding a week of hearing songs I like, played badly.
But no, today is wall to wall “all day Glastonbury”. Lots of songs I liked last year, played badly.

It’s festival season, so non stop “I’m so tired from glasto” (or whatever festival they attended that weekend) as though I’m feeling sorry for you.

I’ll be retreating to R4 and deezer for the summer.

NTS Radio has pretty much replaced 6 music for me now.

I’ve got it on in the background at work and it’s been fairly inoffensive to be fair. Won’t be swapping 😉

Yep – I love live music and I enjoy watching live music on the telly, but live music on the radio? No thanks.

Given I’ve missed out on Glastonbury tickets for the first time in about 12 years, BBC 6 music is now a no go area for me for at least the next week…..not happy!!

Either you are attached to the elastic, which case you feel it pulling you back every year, or you’re not.

Eavis could curl one out on the pyramid and I’d watch it.

Gosh, it’s on? I hadn’t noticed, they hadn’t mentioned it!

Well Michaels a bit unsteady on his feet nowadays so to be fair on him, I’d let him off.

Yeah turned CC off after about 10 minutes today. Am I right right in thinking that they’ll be replaying stuff all next week too?

Tbf it’s probably a price that we have to pay for the sheer amount of money that they put into the coverage.

think I can survive without it.

Do like that Zero 7 set from 2004 on YouTube

Yep, they’ll be banging on about it for weeks.

The build up, the main event, and then “re-living the moments”.  Does get somewhat tiresome 😴

It’s the biggest festival in the world, and the BBC is the national broadcaster, with 6Music being the de facto national music station that covers the spectrum of what Glastonbury is about. Radio One and 2 are never going to be involved. Get over yourselves, it’s been this way for years, they’re not going to change it just to stop a bunch of insignificant wingers on a bike forum.
    Jeezus! 🤷🏼

I read the thread and was about to post but I see countzero has summed it up, I’m looking forward to some good coverage over the next few days.

Yeah its a bit like complaining that BBC Sport are covering the World Cup.

I’m not a huge Glastonbury fanboy and whilst some people can come across as a bit over-emotionally invested in it, I think its cool that we can have a national cultural event like this, once a year in the Summer.

It does get a bit tiresome hearing about it, but I mostly don’t mind.

I did have a moan yesterday when MAH played a recording of which the first 2 minutes was whoever it was doingt the whole “right hand side of the crowd, are you louder than the left?” routine… fair enough if you’re there, but no-one needs to hear that repeated on the radio, however much you like the artist.

Currently, I would give anything to hear great songs played badly, lacking the atmosphere of the event to offset the badness and with poor sound, but instead I have to endure Absolute Radio where I work.

So quit your moaning and consider poor me! 😂

I don’t think anyone has said they don’t like Glasto – personally I think it’s great.

And there’ll be lots and lots on TV which I’m looking forward to watching.

Just not sure it needs so much converge on the radio also.  Granted 6 Music will cover it, but it can get a bit overkill at times.

What’s this I’ve woken up to? Day after Glastonbury come down on the radio? FFS 6 Music, a festival ended, it’s not like King Prince Charles, (or Michael Eavis) died. 🙄

Edit – oh, and of COURSE it’s Mary Ann-Hobbs presenting the pretentious mix. I might put on Radio 4 and get some jolly news about the French election or something.

Huge and fantastic and positive cultural event with people who truly love the whole experience and everything about it and get really invested in the moment.

    Of course there’s a comedown.
    Let them have it.
    Meh to the radio.

When you say King Charles didnt die …. maybe a little bit of him did, if he saw Idles set.

As for Eavis, he didn’t look to happy to be wheeled out for Coldplay propaganda.

Did Chris Martin break up his daughter’s marriage or something?

I think it’s safe to say he’s not a fan.

I think the Glasto come down was great – what I heard of it before work – let the guys have a lie in.  I think they’ve all deserved it.

I don’t listen to Radio 6 so didn’t hear the show but surely calling a show ‘Glasto come down’ is a tongue in cheek reference to the drug taking and the well known after effects ‘suffered’ afterwards.

Complaining about this is  STW at its po faced best

Do 6 music sponsor the West Holts stage?

I think every presenter mentions it at least half a dozen times per show

So what if they do? The simple fact is that certain stages tend to specialise in certain types of act, which are more likely to be of interest to 6Music listeners.
Is that such a difficult concept to grasp?
Honestly, why do you care? 🤷🏼

You seem to get more irritated than is necessary by people’s comments @CountZero

Do you work for the BBC?

    Is everything ok at home?
