Should this earth wire be connected to the bit I’ve circled?

Should I just re-connect it or contact our supplier?

Yup should be connected, clamp it back on

It’s called earth bonding and yes, as above, just connect it.

It’s a home owner responsibility rather than supplier, so either you connect it yourself or pay an electrician to check the system and connect it for you. I’d not be paying anyone.

I’ll connect it back up, must have been knocked at some point.

Must have been forgotten when you swopped the meter round for a bit🤫

So the connector is missing, can you buy them separately and anyone know what they’re called?

Looks to me like you could just screw it down?

No – everything is there, the bare ended cable goes in the ‘V’ of the bonding tag where you circled in red. Loosen the locknut and undo the bolt/screw, insert bare ended cable and re-tighten.

I’m actually doubting now that you’ve had the meter plumbed in backwards.

If the incoming gas pipe is plastic then it doesn’t need connecting. If it does need connecting good practice is to use a ring lug to stop it from being pulled off but not detrimental if it’s not there

Cool, I thought it connected to the V bit at first, but then thought it connected to the bit behind it. I’ll clamp it to the V.

    Cheers all.

Your cable goes under the washer in the photo

Assume it connects to this bit under the washer?

Yes back off that short slotted screw a bit, then put cable under square washer and tighten down well.
