Caught up with it on streaming now they’ve released it to rent (I can’t see cinemas surviving if everyone knows new releases are going to be available that quickly.)

It was as good as it could be, given that you know exactly where the main characters are at the end of the movie, and could also predict very accurately which new characters would survive.

Hemsworth was good fun chewing the scenery. Anya Taylor-Joy was believable as a younger version.

The most disappointing thing was that the ‘world’ of Fury Road didn’t expand, but stayed the same or contracted. There were no new locations to enjoy except in the prologue, just to-ing and fro-ing from the three main locations of the first movie.

Mmm, not sure that’s really fair, we’d heard of those locations before but we’d never really seen gastown or the bullet farm inside, got any impression of what those places were really like, seen a gastowner.

I thought the biggest mistake was the clips of Fury Road in the end trailers. I went from “OK that was a blast, wobbly in places and I really wish they’d not had the Proxy Max guy but still ace” to “hmm Fury Road was a LOT better wasn’t it?” in the space of about 30 seconds 🙂

I watched Fury Road ages ago when it was newish but don’t really remember it. Now I’d like to catch up – what do you lot recommend? Are the old ones still good? Necessary for the story? Should I watch all 5 in release order or chronological order? Where can I find them all online (I have Netflix/Disney/Amazon)?

    etc 🙂
