Front mech on UJ not springing back over small cog. It will move, but not under its own steam. Sprayed it with Plus Gas a few hours ago to free it up but it still isn’t down shifting. Going to try and clean it further at lunch time.

Goosed or just dirty?

Probably dirty. When commuting, I tend to sit in the middle front ring all the time so the crud just builds up on the moving parts. Road salt and stuff went for mine and it took a really good clean & re-lube to get it all going again.

I had a front mech that needed kicking to get it to drop down. A soak in cleaner overnight and a good brushing and lubing did the job.

Sorted.

Plenty of lube and a 10 minute waggle. 😯

sounds exactly the same as what i had….my cable had somehow slackened off also, so i had to retighten it and gave everything a good lube – mine also needed a kicking, giving the springs a good lube works a treat!
