I’m about to install some new bushings in my shock. My question is do the reducers (top hats) get any lubrication before being re-installed in the new bushings ? They came out bone dry.

    TIA Dave.

No lube, dry. Might be better to repalce with a polymner bush and through pin kit next time – TF Tuned have decent kits available. Then you only need to change the bushing.

Ta. Just noticed BETD do a needle roller kit for this too. Should have done more research before buying new bushes 🙁

Wouldn’t bother with needle roller bearings. Arguments for and against but I just see potential notchyness when worn and ease of failure when muck gets in there. Bushes are tried and tested, and the poly bushes with through pins are tough stuff and will last long enough.

p.s. BETD do the same with a heavy duty kit and their ‘hula hoop’ bushes.

TF Tuned, BETD, Fox now do “better” shock mount kits apparently. Then there’s kaesae and his ebay shop from here even! 😉
