I have just purchased an old stock fox 36 FIT RC2 inverted damper cartridge on ebay. Its one of the ones they made to retro fit onto older, pre 2010 forks with the different threads.

Its supposed to be new and it feels great during the first 3/4 of the stroke…but then it feels like it hits a notch and you have to push a little bit harder to get past it. Then there are a few subsequent notches all the way to the end of the stroke.

Is it buggered or does it just need to bed in?

I haven’t fitted it yet – and don’t really want to return it as there are not many of these still kicking around. But the seller does offer returns. Not sure what to do.

Anyone experienced anything like this ?

There is a hydraulic bottom out at the end of the stroke which is probably what you’re feeling
