(I could also have titled this thread AH F***)

Trying to revitalise an old DHX 3 just now… Dismantling didn’t go quite according to plan, it refused to come apart in the order suggested so I ended up having to undo the shim stack with the shock still more or less assembled, so I have no idea what order they were in. It’s a fairly old one- 05 I think- and the online guides to shimming all have totally different shims in. So, clever STW people… What order do you reckon these little sods should be in?

There are 15 in total, plus the big washer and valve thingmy- most guides suggest there should be 8 on each side.

    22.75 x .11
    20.25 x .11
    17.75 x .25
    17.75 x .25
    17.75 x .11
    17.75 x .11
    15.25 x .11
    15.25 x .11
    12.65 x .11
    12.65 x .11
    10 x .5
    10 x .5
    10 x .22
    10 x .22
    9 x .5

Now I’m reasonably (but not 100%) sure that the following were in each side, though in no particular order:

    7 on rebound side:
    17.75 x .25
    17.75 x .25
    17.75 x .11
    15.25 x .11
    12.65 x .11
    10 x .22
    10 x .5

    8 on compression side
    22.75 x .11
    20.25 x .11
    17.75 x .11
    12.65 x .11
    15.25 x .11
    9 x .5
    10 x .5
    10 x .22

Any suggestions? I’ve considered just sticking them in 2 pyramids but that doesn’t sound too convincing

Did you get this sorted? I have a similar thing with a DHX 4 and have no idea what order they might go back in, i had a guess but now it rebounds at and incredible rate with a big top out bang!!

In the end I chucked it all in the Box of Forgetting in the garage. Really need to get that sorted…
