Hi, can anyone ID this fork please? It's my wife's favourite (yes, we have favourite cutlery) and I'd love to find others.

As always, any help very much appreciated.

Thanks,

That fork would annoy me - it's barely a fork! Prongs are far too fat...

Reminds me of the "special" forks you could get from Vesta back in the 70's to eat your Paella, Beef Curry or Risotto with.

"They dined on mince and slices of quince,
which they ate with a runcible spoon"

That's what it is. Currently known as a spork.

nbt, good idea, I can now confirm it's stainless steel.

Big John, you're right, and I always wondered what a runcible spoon was.  I'll have to source some quince I suppose, mince we have 🙂

I always wondered what a runcible spoon was.

I always thought it meant ornate, fancy. It seems Lear meant bowl-shaped: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runcible

Today is a school day. I often wondered what a runcible spoon was but never got around to look it up.

Mrs BigJohn has quince trees at the allotment. She uses them to make membrillo, a sort of apple/pear jelly that goes well with cheese. Manchego especially, as long as you pronounce it "mem bree yo".

I can tell you what that fork/spork/runcible whatever is; bloody horrible.

I'd have said it looks more like an Oyster fork.

doomanic, I'm inclined to agree with you. It's awful to eat with too.
But Mrs PF loves it, and that's good enough for me 🙂
Tried a Google Lens search, no use either. Help me STW, you're my only hope.

I opened the thread to say Manitou.

I now see that my opinion is not needed. I'll close the door behind me

Try taking better pictures at different angles and then Google image search again.

I thought they were called Foons.

We have some made by Viners bought in the 80s and Kevin has a Park Tools one in the camper

Buffet fork maybe? Of a vintage persuasion

I’ve got a teaspoon that I aquired when I joined a company some years ago. I took my own mug and spoon along, which I used to wash myself when I went to get a mug of tea or soup, but then one morning I went into work and they’d vanished. I found my mug in a cupboard with loads of others, the woman who was employed as a cleaner used to just take everyone’s mugs and cups, wash them up and stick them in the cupboard, assuming they were company property.
Having found my expensive DC Comics Batman mug, I told her I’d clean it when needed in future.

Couldn’t find my spoon, but I grabbed one from the drawer, which I’ve had ever since, and I’d love to get some more like it, but I’ve never been able to find any more like it. It looks like it might have been a Scandinavian designer cutlery set, it’s very solid with an interesting double curve to the handle where it rests against the rim of the cup.

It’s solid enough, that rapping someone across the knuckles could well involve fractured bones!
I have tried image searches, but I’ve never found anything that looks like it. I’ve lost quite a lot of items of kitchen cutlery, mainly, I think, because my late step-dad was very casual about picking stuff up and tossing it in the bin, so I’d love a set that matches that single spoon.

At my daughter's 7th birthday party, one of her very polite friends came to ask me for a cake fork...... the look of disappointment on her face as I handed her a regular one, informing her that we didn't have "special" cake forks, will haunt me forever.

I recon it's a cake fork.
