The FODCA Trail? Very short (about 20mins) but good fun and easy to find your way round - not really comparable to GT in variety and length of waymarked trail - tho a lot of other stuff in there.

IMO you'd be better to tie up with a local and spend time in the unwaymarked trails - or go the extra distance to CwmCarn if you want a waymarked red route *

* tho I'm not local - just went when on holiday at Ross

The Forest of Dean trail is quite some way from Cirencester, which may influence whether you want to ride there. There is stuff nearer to Cirencester which may suit you, but all natural stuff.

"red route" Didn't know we had anything labled here. I hope not. the FODCA trail is officially closed for timber felling but only some of it is affected and who cares anyway. I would never have thought that was worth a red label as most of it is suited to kids trikes. The "downhills" are just a maze of worn areas where you build your own line or you can be a real mountain biker and explore miles of paths. Much the best idea. An hour from Ciren though

Hi Andy,

without checking, I should say the F of D is a good 50 miles from Cirencester. The Red Route, currently called the FODCA trail (but soon to be re-named) is solid, but short. Fortunately there's a shed load of other good stuff near by - although it isn't waymarked. If you're looking to stay in the Forest I can recommend the Fountain Inn at Parkend. It's 3 miles from the cycle centre and close to several other solid tracks.
