I need to bodge a repair on a lawnmower handle, looking for something like FiberFix tape (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haPvuhznuyI for a bit of fun if you don’t know the product).

This is a total bodge, to save spending £30 on eBay/etc for parts for a fourth- or fifth-hand rusted mower that is unlikely to survive past the summer anyway.

FWIW I have used FiberFix in past to repair a cracked MTB frame to get one more race out of it, so I am both a) a cheapskate idiot, and b) understanding of the “bodginess” of this. And looking to spend in the £10-£15 range, maximum.

I guess FiberFix have gone out of business or are no longer distributing in UK as Amazon, Toolstation, etc all out of stock. Any replacement ideas?

    Exhaust repair tape.

But i would just splint it witha bunch of spokes and ducttape.

You can make your own with an appropriate fabric (you can get sheets of fibreglass for this to cut to shape) and an epoxy or resin. In fact there’s a fibreglass repair kit which means repairs using fibreglass, not necessarily repairs to fibreglass as I initially assumed, which consists of a sheet of this and a resin to paint on. It’s pretty messy, but effective.

Think you can get it from toolstation

showing out of stock both centrally and in branches through and marked as ‘clearance’. If you click on the items from your link the pages they link to have been deleted

I’ve got some of that in my lock up. I used it to strenghten a kayak paddle. I can post it to you if you want. Where are you?

Thanks all and especially @alanl for the kind offer… I’ve managed to bodge enough to get a few more mows in with fiberglass repair kit from Amazon and some spokes. That should get me through the summer, when I’m going to finally have to splash out on a new mower, for first time ever…

    Thanks again!

Apparently JB Weld rebranded it to FiberWeld.

That looks like it may still be available.
