Is it Scotland or England that are playing tonight?

It gets worse: the BBC aired an interview with Steve Clarke during coverage of Portugal v Czech Republic.

Fairly sure that’s the first time I’ve seen two former Shrewsbury Town players in the post match analysis.

Joe Hart is actually quite a decent pundit! A refreshing change from Shearer telling us that he’s hit it really well and it’s just been too good for the goalie and that’s a great goal

Yep, good to get a goalies perspective, and he’s played in Scotland with a few of the squad. But he’s English!!! Should have been Craig Gordon. And Gabby Logan’s Welsh! Outrageous. Not everything’s a massive conspiracy folks.

Glad Ralston was solid second half, head could easily have gone down. Would have liked to have seen Christie and Shankland given 20 mins, not 5.

Thought Rachel Corsie was pretty good too. The BBC seems to think great players make great pundits.

With Tierney out for the duration we could see Greg Taylor getting a game for Scotland.

If Taylor gets a game we’re really in trouble as that would mean Robertson’s out too. I thought Tierney was quiet last night, it looked to me like it was his hamstring that went and wonder if he was feeling it right throughout the game. He certainly wasn’t getting up the pitch as much as normal. I wonder if Clarke will go for a back four now, he would then be able to get Christie back in the team or he could play two strikers.

Danny Murphy is beyond awful. In the Portugal game 5 minutes toward the end he’s banging on about why managers bring players on with 5 minutes left as thats not enough time to change the course of a game. Player comes on in the 90th minute and scores the winner in the 92nd. And that Danny, is why you’re being paid (somehow) to talk out of your backside whilst people who know what they’re doing are managing the team.

Scotland… Grant Hanley is hilariously bad. Almost like he won a competition to play in a football match. And Mcginn – what a horrible player. Lacking anything like skill it seems his sole purpose on a football pitch is simply to make sly fouls on players. Has Che Adams touched the ball in either game yet?

On reflection Taylor is not likely to get a game Robertson has already shown that he can’t play any other position in defence so it looks like our starting defence on Saturday will be what finished the game last night

    Glass houses, throwing stones etc..

Hanley… don’t you remember Geoff Thomas, Carlton Palmer, Francis Jeffers, David Nugent , Phil Jones etc???

McGinn – I’m not a huge fan of the simian-like central midfielder but he plays consistently well with Villa, where he’s the captain,  so he’s not that bad. Having said that he’s got the biggest arse in football (Dalglish would be envious)

    biggest arse in football

    Joey Barton still, Shirley?

Hope they revert to a back 4 now Tierney is out. Ralston looks so exposed as wing back with 3 in the centre.

Re McGinn – ask Villa fans what they make of him! He’s a good player. Not sure Clarke is getting the best out of him in this formation.

All that time at Ilkeston Town paying off…

Not much chat about the Denmark game on here

    Are you all worried?

We were all told that Serbia was the second-best team in the group, so why should we be worried?

    <checks Serbia/Slovenia score> wait, that doesn’t seem right?

Is rush hour expected to start early this afternoon, so people can be at place of preference for kick off, for another ~2 hours of England agony?

Not arsed here. The hope has finally given way to apathy.

Wow – what late drama! A win tonight and we are guaranteed group winners.

there ain’t anything wrong with starting with the same side it’s the 70min wait for Southgate to change things if it’s not working that grates.

This is where Rasmus Højlund gets a hat trick, having not been able to hit a cows arse with a banjo for us all season, isn’t it?

^^^ You are not wrong there Binners – everyone turns up against England.

England underwhelming yet again – they’ve totally turned off since the goal which seems to happen with too much regularity.

I try not to hate on Southgate, because he has at least achieved team cohesion unlike many of his predecessors, but he is also tactically inept.

England are well sorted for the walking football Euros when they start though.

Seems pretty obvious what the problem with England is. These are players who are used to playing a modern high pressing, high speed and high energy game at the highest levels being forced to play an outdated tippy-tappy cautious game plan which they haven’t a clue how to execute. They’re probably bored out of their minds.

This is the most tedious game of the competition so far.

Can’t understand the negativity, whilst limited, the Danes are creating a few chances.

Foden’s the only one who has looked interested tonight and he gets subbed? Gordon will be chuffed at giving up his summer holiday for no reason whatsoever. 🙄

tough to say for a bloke with 60- odd goals but Kane is no longer the man we need. Worth a squad place and for some games but our game doesn’t really suit him now.

The ‘mug of Ovaltine and sleeping pill’ nutrition strategy is not paying off yet.

Luckily for England the ref has been very kind.

Awful performance. Surely it can’t be a fitness issue? Definitely problems with the system, TAA wrong position. Foden works hard but ineffective. The England defence and midfield out themselves under massive amounts of pressure with the constant backward passing and no forward movement.

England was lucky to cling into a draw. That was very poor.

There’s a load of them having a lie down, I have no idea why.

Exactly what Dazh says, abysmal game, they just can’t play this slow stuff
