England are having all kinds of fun and games down the right. Foden, Saka & Walker are taking the mick.

EDIT: also, is there something about Pickford’s arm length? He couldn’t reach the crossbar for the header against it…

anywhere else on the pitch that’s a freekick and a booking, it’s quite dangerous without being reckless, could easily break bones, etc.

But I agree, very rarely given in the area and on that basis quite lucky. The attitude seems to be ‘well, you got your shot away, what happens after doesn’t count’ – even more than the foot up shot block is the after shot clattering like Pickford did that time for Everton on VVD.

We look so different getting the ball on the turn and actually going at the defenders, stuff just opens up.

My prediction of the semis as two tedious 0-0 draws is turning out well

Foden looks well up for it tonight. Nice to see them finally take the handbrake off

Who is that team in the white shirts?

I’m not sure I’ve got the right game ‘cos they don’t play like England

Penalty all day – misses the ball and kicks Kane on the foot!

    Are we the better team?

I think we might be the better team.

    This is strange.

I felt that going behind early would be good for England, force them to play less conservatively. Hope they carry on like that, they have been easily the better team. Come on England! ⚽

I’m no Trippier fan, especially not on the left but not sure why Shaw has come on and the shape been changed, unless he’s injured?

natural left footer who can play a first time ball as well as come inside. As much as I love KT (and as RB a different proposition) he only asks one question, Shaw can as two.

Yeah, we’ve gone back to side to side football again. Can’t believe the team talk would have been anything other than “more of the same lads”?

Mrs Binners is away with work tonight and is staying in a quite posh hotel that wouldn’t normally have something as frightful as the footy on but they’ve put a telly in the bar for the night.

    I just got this message

It’s all kicking off here! One woman wanted to sit at ‘her’ evening table but it’s near the tv so she wanted the tv moving. Funnily enough 1/2 way through the match they said no, so she’s standing in the middle of the room blocking people’s view. Some pissed Newcastle bloke just shouted ‘sit the **** down you Tory ****’

I googled it the other day, marginal gains relieving pressure on calves and avoiding injury apparently, have cut holes in front and rear of my cycling shorts but just look like Madonna not Maradona.

I get Shaw coming on but why change the shape when they were finding so much space?

They haven’t particularly, Dutch have bolstered their midfield to stop us getting on the ball in space so easily.

Never a penalty but we’ve had them go against us in the past it’s how it goes, but Watkins’ goal was incredible. Wish I’d laid the bet on for them to win this am had a chance at 50/1.

Good to see Foden finally getting to do what he does. First half was great. God knows how we set up to stop Spain though.

I didn’t put it on because knew it wouldn’t be how it appeared and I very rarely bet.

We don’t. We set up to play the way we have that got us here. Spain are a decent side for sure, but have a tendency to switch off at the back and if France (Mbappe even) had his boots on the right feet could easily have conceded three in the second half.

If you set up just as a counter to your opponent, against a side like Spain they’ll eventually do you over.
