in particular a fr 316 – looks pretty nice, have a couple of cx frames which are good but interested to hear anyone’s opinions on their road frames?

Yes I’ve got a fr316 very good for the money couple of things worth noting the frames come up small or have a short head tube? I got a 54 and possibly should have gone for a 56 and the seatpost was not long enough, had to order a longer one.I’m 6 ft by the way.

I’d not expect many people 6′ to ride a 54…

The vast majority of people don’t need that position, and don’t have the body conditioning to make it an enjoyable ride.
