I’ve a lovely vango flocked airbed, with a small leak/hole.

Can’t find the patches that came with it!

What’s teh best way/product to glue/patch a hole on the flocked style airbed?

    Cheers

I’ve used a Park self adhesive patch on the non-flocked side. If it’s small, super-glue may do it, or evostick. I patched a ultra-lightweight back packing air bed with evostick. And patched a ‘self inflating’ airbed with a standard glued patch.

Not sure what I used, it wasn’t ‘bikey’, but it worked. I expect it’s an ‘airbed repair patch’ from eBay. The patch was half on and half off the flocked bit.

Ooo, timely thread! I’ve got a small (1cm) seam split on my Exped Megamat 10. Of course, the repair solution that came with the mat was completely dried up when I opened it to use it. The Exped repair kit is £20 but I only need the glue so this seems rather excessive. Was thinking of just trying some fabric glue. Thoughts?

do any of these work (or not work) on self-inflating matresses? both of our (pretty expensive) vango mattresses have leaks and just leave you on the floor now

I’ve a variety of self inflating mats, the repair kits are generally pretty good. But when I’ve run out of patches , aqua sure is great and always worked for me. I’ve also used black witch, not quite as good but dries quickly

@simondbarnes exped offer a free repair service. All it costs is your postage to them

They have just repaired one of mine ?

Postage there and back would cost more than buying their £20 repair kit.

Tenacious Tape works fine on self inflaters.

Flocked surface would seam problematic from a tape perspective.

does the tenatios tape/aqua sure work on the valve:matress interface? that appears to be where both of ours are coming unstuck (I assume the valve is non-pourus so some glues won’t work?)

What is it made of? PVC? Use PVC glue and a PVC patch

I’ve had success with aquasure on self inflating mattresses, particular in an awkward corner near the valve that would be hard to get a patch into.

Does anyone sell self-inflating mattresses that don’t leak/fail? Our current one (Vango, I think) started leaking at the seams near the valve pretty quickly.  The kids have Zempire ones, one of which leaked from new and got replaced, and now another one is leaking after < 1 year.

I’ve used shoe goo in the past.  worked very well.

Or you could pour a litre of Stans in and jiggle it about
