Let’s say you were shopping for a new bike, what would you get based on the following information…

    • Live in the lake district and enjoy riding steep, techy rocky descents, but the occasional blast around a trail centre isn’t unheard of.
    • XX1 would be nice.
    • Sub 30lbs
    • Dropper post essential
    • Tubeless
    • 140-160mm travel
    • Don’t worry about budget

    Go…

Yup, either of those would do it. Should probably have mentioned I’d prefer to stay with 26″ wheels for now though.

Knolly Endorphin would be my choice.
sub 30lbs with the xx build kit, so maybe a touch lighter with xx1?
    great riding bikes.

Hmm…right now mine would be a 5-Spot, with Kashima at both ends, tubeless, Hope M4s and a Reverb. Oh, while I’m at it I’d like great big carbon bars, XT transmission and a spare set of Fox 36s for gravity days.

Who wants to buy a kidney?

Ibis Mojo HD would be my choice. Not sure if it would be sub 30lbs, but it would be ideal.

Thats where I am, was tossing up the Blur and the TR, if i had the cash for carbon then it would be the TR but it’s just Alu for now so the LT works out a better deal for me. Take a trip down to biketreks for a demo. Throw the NomadC in there XX1 takes it below the 30lb line. Gets knocked in here as being old fashioned (a 67degree head angle how can people ride it!) but was one of the best bikes I have tried – just don’t have the riding here to justify it.

My dream bike sure as shit wouldn’t have Avid brakes on it…. 🙂

I think I’d be on the Carbon Covert with XX1, XTR brakes (or maybe a set of stealth Hope M4s), Reverb stealth, Enve bars, Enve rims on King bubs, Hand Dampf tyres, renthal sten, troy lee grips.

Big bouncy bikes really aren’t doing anything for me at the moment, though that Canyon does looks nice (with the exception of the HS chain set.)

I’ve been lucky enough to have just built my dream bike, however some Enve rims and a Bos Kirk would finnish the job proper.

That does look very nice, but Ibis’ have never got me for some strange reason.
