Bought a pair of baggies online, sized according to their fit guide and the same size as an old pair that still fit, (albeit a different design). Not a bloody chance of closing. Possibly need 2 sizes up!

My GF  bought 2 pairs of the same longs  (same style, same size)from Endura. One pair fitted perfectly – hence buying the second pair – the other pair looked like Nora Batty’s tights.

I have MT500 trousers (L), spray shorts (XXL) and waterproof trousers (XL) all fit the same. They’re just appalling consistency (and the quality isn’t great), I suppose it does make you use the LBS because you couldn’t buy online with any confidence.

Endura lost me as a customer for this reason about 10 years ago and I will still never waste my time or money on their products as a consequence and it is sad to see things still haven’t improved.

My last straw was a pair of 3/4 bib shorts with each leg being a different width so one leg fitted and stayed put whilst the other rode up every few pedal strokes

It’s amazing they haven’t sorted this out. Complaints have been around for at least a decade. I’ve mostly stopped buying Endura because of this. My latest pair of MT500 waterproof shorts in medium are a good two sizes bigger than the last, also medium. I’ve even had other riders comment on my baggy arse.

It seems they have no need to do anything. Interesting that as many people seem really happy with Endura kit as not. I haven’t bought anything from them for a few years, the last thing I bought were some knee warmers as I thought they couldn’t mess them up but they appear to have been made for a giraffe.

What’s everyone buying instead of Endura then? Need some more shorts and was thinking of another pair of Humvees.

Thing is I like the Clickfast liners, but yes, it’s ridiculous that this is still a common complaint after so many years.

Ah yes…7Mesh…the Arc’teryx of cycle clothing…goes to check lottery tickets

Mostly using 100% and Nuke Proof at the moment. Shame about the latter.

Variable sizing, the hit and miss quality control and some really sh*t design details is why I don’t buy Endura any more.

It’s a shame as I really like thier kit generally and it’s been brilliant in the past.

I’ve a pair of bib tights from them which do that! The thighs are just a few mm different. Being bibs they don’t move, but it’s noticeable.

Like some  of you have mentioned, given up on endura mainly because of the sizing! Rapha shorts and trousers for  me are great. Good fit, the waist band adjustment is simple and effective. I use them a lot and after two years still going strong. If you see them on sale they offer good long term value.

Altura and Giro – Much better kit and fit, they both currently have decent sales on.

I never have an issue with their sizings, bought many tops & trousers/shorts always in a large and gloves in XL over the past 20 years and half a dozen items in the last year as I’ve taken up the roads too.

I do though only buy their high-end stuff and I am built like a ‘cyclist’ :-)

If not Endura I get from Gore & Castelli, and for these I need to buy XL for everything.

Never been a fan of Endura, but odd sizing smacks of them just picking which ever Chinese factory is cheapest at the time .

    Decathlon for the win

vinted is great if you know your size, or the item is cheap and you can just pass it on to friends or sell it on.

not ideal for the op and endura like.

picked up a 7mesh gtx style jacket for £25, rrp was £290 i think :0)

also picked up a pair of medium 7mesh shorts £7 but they were like a parachute..

Used to be my go-to brand for MTB and commuting stuff. Had a Stealth softshell jacket that lasted years of daily commuting use, some excellent waterproof shorts and a few other bits and pieces. Always found their gloves to be very dependable.

Came to buy new waterproof shorts a while ago, tried Endura again and the fit is dreadful. It’s like they took all that was brilliant about the old shorts, threw that away and produced a set of shorts that could never be anywhere near as good as the originals.

I’m another who finds Endura sizing AND quality very inconsistent. Hummvee shorts and 3/4s are still my favourite for commuting and I was always an XL, but think I’d be better off with L in them now. MT500 Freezing Point gilet is one of my favourite bits of kit for colder rides.

I’ve given up on Endura jerseys completely though. Recently returned 5 MT500 LS jerseys as every one of them developed lots of pulls in the fabric after only one ride around town (whole family had them). Not fit for purpose and refunded without an issue.

My go-to brand has been Nukeproof for baselayers and shorts mainly. Wish I’d stocked up more during the Chiggle firesale.

I have lots of Endura kit. All Size Medium. All fit well. There are obvious and inevitable variations according to style. For instance, the road jerseys are a tighter fit than the MTB jerseys.

TBH I hadn’t really noticed it with Endura.

But I recently bought some Madison trews and their sizing chart is a work of pure fiction.

I bought the size that the chart recommended and they would have fitted famous wrestler Giant Haystacks rather than my (admittedly not slim) physique (5’11” and 85 kg).

Yeah, I have some very baggy Madison lycra shorts and very small Madison over trousers, both apparently size medium.

Think we all understand that – more that stuff from the same range have random sizing – I have L, XL and XXL stuff from the MT500 range that all fit the same, it’s just totally random, you never know which ruler they were using the day they made your stuff.

A 32 inch waist is a 32 inch waist whether it belongs to a roadie, graveler or MTBer!

It’s not about different styles having different fits, get that. It’s the same range (and even the same item) can be wildly different sizes.

I don’t want to have to try on every item every time I buy one. Once I know my size in a brand I just want to be able to buy it.

This is why I just buy Altura or Gore from Amazon now. Took a punt on Endura shorts in the CRC fire sale an despite ordering a large they were far too small.

I’ve just a couple of Endura cycling gear now, a pair of bibs, and a softshell that bizarrely isn’t windproof, but makes for a ideal post-ride warm-thing to put on that was super cheap in an “Evans store closing” sale. There’s so many other brands that make properly fitting useful gear that Endura is relegated to ‘so cheap you’d be daft not to’ spare cash type purchases only these days

I have never been able to do this with any brand!  I tried it with Levis but they were hopeless.  I thought maybe it’s because I wasn’t going posh enough, but I’ve got the same with Nudie – some jeans I can barely do up, some that fall down without a belt, both ostensibly the same size. IMO if it’s something where fit is important, you have to try it, you just can’t expect consistency for some reason!

I tried on a mate’s MT500 jacket in size large and really liked it, felt baggy enough to layer under etc and was comfy. Few months go by and I buy one of my own for it to be really slim cut. I’d not been doing much exercise for various reasons so had gained a couple kilos, but I seriously thought I had ballooned compared to the last time, was mortified. It still fit but not as nicely for an ostensibly “baggy fit” rain jacket as per the reviews.

Only when I tried my mates on again I realised there was pretty much a whole size worth of difference between 2 jackets both marked L.

I’ve also got a pair of Hummvee trousers that are M and fit beautifully round the waist, but the upper thigh part is so stiff that I can’t even pedal effectively, or even step up a big rock without the crotch feeling the strain. They are more or less house trousers now, can’t even cycle to work in them. I also have a pair of Singletrack shorts in size Large that are a struggle to fasten round the waist.

For roadie stuff I have a Pro SL primaloft jersey in medium that fits nicely without much effort…Pro SL gilet in large that I can barely zip up!

    It’s maddening!

I bought some bib tights and they fitted correctly but the padded bum bit was in completely the wrong place, you’d have had to be riding a recumbent bike for it to be of any use. I’m considering unstitching the liner and stitching it back into the right place because they were expensive.

Glad it’s not just me. I just received my first ever Endura product – some shorts that fit just fine. The liner however – So big it’s like they’re meant for an elephant! I’m hoping they’ll shrink in the wash.

No issues with fit, but I do have issues with the quality of their zips on pockets which has now led to me having issues with their customer service

You’d also expect the inner shorts to fit if the outer baggies fit. The last pair I bought had constrictive inners!

The exact opposite of mine, perhaps we have each others?

I’m with scotroutes and a few others, I have had loads of their kit over the years and sizing has been pretty good.  I have I think 5 pairs of Pro SL bib shorts, the older 2 being for Wattbike sessions now.  All fit perfectly and are more comfortable than others I have from Rapha and Castelli.

I have had a few pairs of MTB shorts and overtrousers that have been a bit random in sizing, but maybe only 2 or 3 items over 15 years and probably dozens of pieces of kit.

I do less MTB now and more road and gravel, and majority of my ride wardrobe is now sale items from Rapha and Castelli than Endura mind you.

Always been a nightmare for me. I’m 6′ and 40″ chest with a 35″ waist. You’d think pretty average. I have M, L, XL in their stuff and it all fits.

I even sent a set of trousers back to them to check once because i was so confused. Apparently it was me that didn’t understand that the ‘Singletrack trousers were for downhill, which is why they were far larger than the Singletrack shorts I bought’!

At which point i gave up and went elsewhere.

It’s not just Endura , I bought a pair of Troy Lee Ruckus shorts with liner in the final days of CRC . I’m usually a 32” waist and thought TLD stuff was always on the baggy side but the outers are “ snug” but the liners  were impossible to get up over my thighs !
