Power assisted rambling anyone?

https://www.hypershell.cc/

I can see these appearing on a high street near me soon.
Looking forward to seeing some Wrong Trousers escapades...
On a brighter note I'm seeing less leccy scooters around now. I assume they've discovered the cost of new batteries after riding them flat out everywhere for a couple of months.

If you use power-assisted legs to ride an ebike, does it put you over the legal power limit? Will they need to be speed restricted so they cut out when the ebike motor does?

Blimey. With a software rewrite these bad boys could actually make me into an acceptable dancer to counter the “rhythmectomy” my wife says I’ve had.
I’m in.

Actually my 70+ year old mum might like something like this. She likes walking but has a bad back and is finding it harder.

My latest old man angry rant is e foil boards

So an ironing board, woth an adhedral wing 2ft underneath

Motor and prop with hand throttle.

Catch every wave even from behind, just accelerate over the top, whiney motor and dont adhere to the etiquette in Any way

Yep. They are fun, the ones I've tried were about £12k. Only had a couple of sessions to make learning Wingfoiling a bit easier.

Thats quite an advert and I read it with the "Deep voiced American advert voiceover man" mode switched on...

"But wait. If you order today, we'll include a set of comedy tea towels..."

That's just jealousy 😉

A mate has one and it's pretty cool to see him flying around on a mirror flat sea - infinitely better than a bloody jetski.

id have assumed that it was enough people getting caught and fined (and those with driving licenses getting points) that people were starting to be put off them, especially those most likely to use them in a high profile way.

fwiw I wouldn’t call that a brighter note - the users have not switched to some other form of active transport, they’ll be back to using a car or Uber!

Five years ago I was in Milan to watch the finale of the Giro. We went to do Milan Nord park run on the Saturday. There was an Italian climber who had been made paraplegic after an accident. He was doing the event in an exoskeleton which was bloody impressive.

"On his second attempt, on Saturday 27 May 2017, he managed to cover the entire distance of 5k in 2h 57: 12! I believe that to date this represents the only participation of an exoskeleton athlete at a parkrun event, and it certainly shows that parkrun really is for everyone!"

Great so not only will we have sanctimonious E-trail dogs telling us the rules

But robotic redsocks will be able to keep pace with us telling us "where's yor bell, you know this is a footpath...."

Clever stuff tho innit

I know it’s easy to take the piss, but for some people this thing could be the difference between walking normally or not.
I think it looks brilliant tbh

This could conceivably be the case for me. Will be watching. I can't walk a mile on the flat with a walking stick...
