Ebay selling advice.

If I sell an item  for collection only, the buyer pays via PayPal.

Once theyve paid do they know my address for collection or do I have to give it to them?

The system will give them the address and they will give a barcode for you to scan to say it’s been collected.

Just message each other, there’s various ways around the sending email addresses/phone number thing, and exchange details that way, then cash on collection, safest way.

Ah ok, I had something for sale on ebay and FB marketplace which was collection only . Sold the item on marketplace but completely forgot to remove it from ebay like a t*t. Chaps bought it and paid for it and ive had to cancel it and refund but he’s not too impressed  understandably.

Wasn’t sure if he now had my address or i had to give it to him.

Usually when you make a sale the winning bidder will receive the seller’s details

It’s the other way round, the seller gets the buyer’s details for posting?

Even if someone has bought something off you on ebay, you can still(think so, used to) cancel the sale, giving a reason off a list.

If you want you can add a message explaining your little faux pa and apologize, maybe even offer them a discount off something else.

I didn’t realise it gave out address to buyer as I have always had to message the buyer to give them my address and I have sold quite a bit on eBay as collection only.

And yes you can cancel the sale. You are not legally forced to sell the item in the same way that the buyers are not legally forced to pay for it/collect it and can just ignore it after winning and never respond.

I get quite a few non-payers who never reply to anything. I write them a very polite letter, saying that if they see something on eBay which they really don’t want to buy, please don’t bid on it, as it annoys not only the seller but also all the serious buyers. I then post it with no stamp, they get a little ‘insufficient postage’ thing through the letter box and have to take that to the post office and pay £1.75 to be asked not to waste everyone’s time. It’s petty but gives me some satisfaction. And also use the report buyer bit to help those who’ve got their accounts set to block these people

I have removed the non-payer thing when posting as I just sell Buy It Now with immediate payment required.

However, that is not an option on collection only items for some reason so local collection can still be a pain.
