Yes, noise cancelling earbuds. After reading TechRadar reviews these were the two that appealed.

An upgrade from the £20 A90 Pro (fairly generic) earbuds from Amazon. I would have been happy with them but in competition with the office radio at my workplace, the A90’s didn’t win out without high volume levels, and I still couldn’t listen to quieter passages of music without the sound of the radio ruining it.

Anyway, I decided on the Nothing Ear (a) noise cancelling earbuds for financial reasons. Tempted by the yellow but black was £20 less. I suggest nobody here looks at the markettng for this brand however, you’ll be triggered big time 🤣

Wasn’t massively impressed by the noise cancellation at home with quick tests, but in the workplace, against the radio, they make a big difference. Put them in my ears with ANC activated and everything goes quiet and the radio sounds very tinny. Knowing what I know about audio, I can’t expect them to cancel out high frequencies. However I don’t need to turn the volume up so loud and can also listen to quieter passages of music much more satisfactorily now. The noisy USB powered desktop fan can’t be heard at all for instance, bass noises eradicated.

Another ‘anyway’ (drinking Pinot) but I keep thinking about those Cambridge Audio Melomania M100s and it’s pay day.

The reviews say they have excellent ANC, if not better than Airpods (I’m no Apple fanboi).  Remembered now another point against the Melomanias – not sure I’d feel comfortable leaving £160 earbuds on my desk at work.

Anyone happen to have the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100s? Tell me they’re not worth it. I don’t need three pairs of earbuds do I?

    Only 3 pairs?

the joy of earbuds is you pop them in the charging pod and then pop that in your pocket.

If they are as good as the ~£90 more expensive AirPod Pros then that’s pretty good.

my AirPod Pros are not as sound removing as my aged CIEMs but at a fraction of the price and a step up in convenience they’re a great thing to have.
