I have a “.co.uk” and a “.com” domain for my little business.

Can’t help but notice my current registrar (LCN, with whom I’ve been since Day 1) are looking to charge me nearly double what they were charging me four years ago for biannual domain renewal:

    June 2020 £56.28

    June 2022 £74.38

    June 2024 £93.58.

Interweb tecky nonsense like this doesn’t remotely interest me, but I can’t help think they’re taking the P. It’s just domain renewal. What do they do for it?

Yes, alright it’s ‘only fifty-quid’, but I’d rather that £50 was in my pocket not theirs…

I know it’s possible to transfer the domains to a new registrar, but is it worth it? And if so, who do you recommend I use?

    TIA.

One of the guys on here runs a hosting company with good rates, i’ve used them for my email for quite a few years,  I know other forum members use them.

I use Easily for domain name registration – think it’s about £10/year

    Might be worth a look.

I’m here to recommend this lot, use them both the company I work for and my own personal stuff. Transferring over was super straightforward, and the one time I’ve needed to use their support they were dead helpful.

To be clear, you’re talking solely about name renewal and the site is hosted elsewhere?

I’ve used 123-reg for years.  What’s to say, it’s like changing electricity supplier.
