It seems like such a faf.. also very impractical for biking. Why can't we go back to having buttons? I bought my first touch screen item a few weeks ago, a new ipod touch. And I don't like it at all, I much prefer my old nano from a few years ago 🙁 .
I just hate all the pinching and sliding, etc. It seems like such a mission just to change the song sometimes with all the fancy flashing display etc on the screen.
My Desire has a little tracker button for when your wearing gloves or a luddite (though from apples point of view it's you thats broken!!)
I have always disliked them. I worked far too closely for my liking with the ancient types on the McDonalds tills of the 80's, right through to the versions that made the technology of LCD touchscreens cheap enough for Apple to put them on the worlds favourite toys.
If it doesn't have a keyboard I don't want to know! 🙂

Some gloves have wee touchpad pads on the fingers now, clever.
I reckon it's good for some things but typing on-screen doesn't work well... Fine for texts etc but terrible for normal typing. Some things seem to just want extra sliders and things to touch, others use it well.
I wasn't really a fan til I got my Desire S but it makes clever use of it in most places, it's not too gimmicky. I didn't realise how impressed I was with it, til I went back to using an old MP3 player and couldn't work out why it didn't respond to the touchscreen it didnt have 😳
It'd be much harder to play Angry Birds with buttons though.
