Given that Technogym are Italian, I suspect that it is perfectly logical.

If you want to make cheap gags about out-dated non-PC terms for people with a disability, go and do it on a forum where the members may not be married to people who are diabled with Cerebral Palsy. 🙄

(?) You have to be a prick to start a thread about it.
Fwiw I think it refers to the fact it doesn’t take up much space.

Not sure the OP has done anything other than highlight a name tbh

He does state it is “odd” so i assume they dont approve

I won’t use the edit opportunity still open to me to remove the thread but I will explain further.

I did mean ‘odd’ as in ‘peculiar’, not odd as in ‘point and laugh’.

Anyway, I did not intend to offend so I apologise if anyone’s offended.

Feel free to report it to the mods and have it deleted.

I should have thought more first, in retrospect, this sort of thread never ends well.

The canonical example is this, of course.

The Guardian wrote a piece about it a while back. Interesting quote from the UK distributor at the end.

Ultimately, different words mean different things in different countries. Happens a lot.

Rich tea? I think not. You’ll have a Duchy Originals lemon shortbread and damned well enjoy it.

You are aware that there’s a whole world of other countries and people out there who speak different languages don’t you? Sometimes people like you think that foreign words are funny. Sometimes people like you demonstrate how stupid and narrow minded you are. Sometimes other people turn round and tell you this.

Anyone know any other foreign words that the OP can use to offend people with?

Should I apologise in advance for finding some foreign words funny. Winter sport seems to be full of it.

A ski run in Andorra called Fagina.
You can take your skis into a shop in France and let them fartage.
Fanny Chmellar and won’t let me type his name! are more than proficient in their chosen fields.

I’m sure people from other countries find words/names in English amusing.

There’s a shop in Serre Che that advertises that it has “Top fartage”

I think also that page has been vandalised to add a fictitious middle name.

Not just foreign, in the world of UK sports you can go deep and catch crabs, well worth a smirk.
Pajero drivers, I admire your courage for advertising the fact.

Everytime I see a mitsubishi pajero I’m reminded that ‘pajero’ is spanish for ‘****’.. doesnt mean I hate **** though.. I’m still on here and this forum seems to possess more than it’s fair share of uptight ****..

I can recall (in the 1970s) aged about six, my sister and I making up random goobledygook words in the hope that we might have said something totally obscene in another language and maybe offended someone on the other side of the planet.
    Kids eh?!

There was something going about a few years ago when Arsenal were sponsored by Sega that in some languages that meant something offensive. Can’t think what it was supposed to mean and which language though.
