I'm in the process of turning my old 2003 model Inbred into something more hack bike including trying to fit a rack. The problem is that the BB7 disc brake caliper fouls the leg of the rack (I don't no if this is a common problem with disc brake and rack setups or just on the Inbred).
The BB7 caliper (being mechanical) is pretty chunky and if I bend the leg outward to clear the caliper and brake arm it's going to be around 2 inches out on a very long bolt and due to the dog leg design of the rack legs I'm not sure that I can bend them around behind the caliper.
Does anyone have any tips for fitting a rack to an Inbred with disc brakes fitted?
Try this from Tubus. Extension kit for your rack, part no 70024
http://www.tubus.com/index/lang/en/rubrik/Spares%20and%20Accessories/
Could be worth a try but the acctuation arm on the BB7 is going to push it out another 3/4" - 1" further out than in your picture.
Got one of these Topeak
Mounted to this (Kona Dr Dew with Avid BB7)
Topeak works for me too.
