Just recently I seem to have either developed previously dormant muscles, or I’ve come across a really poor patch of dust caps. The problem comes if the valve cap is snuggled down a little too much, whereby the dust cover top separates from the body!

I’m hoping someone can recommend some quality aftermarket plastic dust caps.

I don’t use them, they weigh too much!

Schwalbe – clear ones are much tougher. Or purple anodised alloy, of course 🙂

Have you got some weird tubes with longer threaded valves or something? Ah but no, I’ve had full threaded valves, that still doesn’t happen.

    Just stop overtightening them.

    Get some of these 😆

I just use the green plastic ones that come with airwaves tubes.

I prefer to go au natural with dust caps and let the valve just hang in the wind.
