Are you smarter than the new Foreign Secretary?  Do you believe Henry the Eighth was succeeded by his son Henry The Seventh?

Well, that’s him out of my pub quiz team then!

The current UK Foreign Secretary thinks Yugoslavia existed in 2003?

How can I apply for the job?

That’s a complicated one. You can easily apply to be on Mastermind though… chop chop!

Well that’s the point, I’m definitely no mastermind, a bit like Lammy, only perhaps a tad better!

I did, never got a response though, suspect my specialist subjects were a bit too common (as in lots of folk would pick them)

tbf to him, he did better than some, not quite as well as me though ?

What were the specialist subjects you listed?

That’s what’s annoys me most about mastermind – the daft specialist subjects and how ridiculously narrow they are. I often just wait until the second round before paying attention.

The other thing that I find annoying is the totally unnecessarily long questions. Some of them you could make into several paragraphs!

Someone on here should go on..

Specialist subject.. Hub, axle, headset and bottom bracket standards!

    21st century F1

    21st Century MTBing

    Scuderia Ferrari

    Friends

    Cornetto Trilogy Films

So, they only do each specialist subject once, every other series, so as not to repeat, so they might ask you to be a bit more specific. One guy asked for his subject to be ‘meat’, when that was vetoed, he wanted ‘pork’. He didn’t get on…

Some subjects are totally off limits, normally short run but popular TV series, as they’ve simply run out of stuff to ask.

That ^^ sounds too wide. Try narrowing it down to maybe just bottom brackets.

Lammy is one of this cabinet I have a fair amount of respect for.  Got the skills for the job.  A truely smart cookie

I do not agree with all his political positions but thats not unusual 🙂

Brought up as the son of an immigrant single mother to end up a barrister shows he has something about him.

Even Liz Truss isn’t daft enough to appear on Mastermind.

Oh can you imagine that?? I would pay good money to see Liz Truss on Mastermind!!

Although I would probably wet myself and struggle breathing with all the laughter.

He’s not a patch on his Tottenham  predecessor Bernie Grant, a man which I had utmost admiration for,  even if he was a tad barmy. I was truly devastated when he died.

Grant?? Whaddaguy. Said the police ‘got a bloody good hiding’ the day PC Keith Blakelock was hacked to death on Broadwater Farm etsate.

Blimey, reading the Wiki entry of Lammy’s bewildering contradictory meanderings, to be generous I’d say he’s someone who likes to be on the winning side (no idea of THFC is a good choice in that context). It’s one thing to qualify as a barrister, it’s quite another to have a desk in chambers.

You need to add a date range – like Feb 2013 to October 2016.

Otherwise you risk there being 4 new ones you’d been unaware of in between you going into the studio and sitting down in front of Magnus for your questioning.

Yeah that man. He said many things which I totally disagreed with but he was a truly inspirational black politician, and one which I deeply admired. I heard him speak once when he came to a relatively small meeting in Croydon – he always understood the importance of connecting with ordinary people

Upon Grant’s death the entire British establishment was singing the praises of a man who was once viewed as a dangerous and reckless voice of the far left. Prime Minister Tony Blair called Grant “an inspiration to Black British communities everywhere,” according to Chronicle World.

So are you deliberately repeating the lie, or are you ignorantly repeating the lie?

I would go with simple trolling, as usual you won’t get a reply or any follow up.
