I have a couple of Carbon frames that both have a patch where the carbon has worn through.

One is where the chainrings rubbed with mud and you can push the carbon in as it is soft, the other is inside the non-drive side chain stay and it has worn through a couple of layers of carbon.

Is it worth getting them repaired then selling them, or just selling them as is and letting the buyer get them repaired.

Or are they just fit for the skip………

Carbon frames can be quite cheaply repaired “£50” ish- depending on the nature of the damage – your sound very do able.

There are specialists who will repair them, or you can buy kits to DIY.

Fine for your own continuing use, but I imagine the resale value of a pre-demaged carbon frame is probably very small, and most people would avoid in case of further underlying issues with it.

One of them is a Moda Hardtail, the other a trek 9.9 Team issue. They are both 26″ wheeled frames, one is mine, one was my son’s – we have both gone to 29″ wheels now, and were cleaning these up to sell when we noticed the damage.

That’s why I was wondering what people’s views were on their resale value – if any
