It's been mentioned on and off but no real definitive answer that I can find. I know some pads like my new Leatt elbow pads say do not wash!, I'm sure when I bought my 661 d30 knee pads a few years ago ( they have sealed in d30) that the labels said they are cool wash ie 30C washable and I have been doing so for several years. I have crashed and landed on them on many occasions and they still work as they should in terms of shock absorption.
So how many people have actually had them fail through washing as per the label? I can see them being damaged if washed on a hot wash for sure. Is there anything to look for on the d30 where it can be seen as to deterioration ie is if obvious? Photos of deterioration would be good too so I know what knackered inserts will look like.
Could be an excuse for dome matching Leatt 3df knee pads as the arm pads are tru to their XXL sizing and actually fit without cutting off the blood supply!

WaShing / Drying
If applicable, D3O protectors should be removed carefully from the garment before washing.
D3O protectors are wipe-clean only, using a damp cloth.
NEVER use cleaners or detergents on or launder your D3O product. This may result in irreparable damage and will severely reduce the effectiveness of your D3O product.
After washing, allow to dry in a ventilated space at room temperature; do not use hair dryers
or other heaters to dry your D3O product.
Maintenance
Never modify any part of your D3O product.
Protectors should be inspected before use for signs of wear and/or damage and replaced if necessary.
If your D3O protector has sustained a significant blunt impact, it should be discarded and replaced.

Above was lifted direct from d30 website PDF document! So is everyone who has crashed in their d30 pads now going to throw them away?
