    Hi all

I wonder if anyones achieved a decent fit with crank boots on a DMR AXE LE? Or even the older AXE, must be same shape I’d expect?
Lovely stiff crank by the way.

Mines a 170 and the ends are quite square (and the arms quite fat). Tried Raceface boots, my old fallback.
The “Ally’ ones are a very tight fit which would be ok, but they dont slip on far enough for the holes to line up and they are designed for a fully rounded crank tip, the AXE is quite square at the end. I’d imagine the rounded boot might tear where it’s unsupported by the square crank tip..
Hmm, heat it and soften to improve fit. I wonder!

I tried some old carbon RF boots too. – they slide on easier but otherwise same issues with shape /unsupported plastic & hole alignment.
Before I experience new crank tip meets rock – any thoughts please?

How about those ebay chinese jobs – offer any protection? (RaceFace claim special plastic formulation) Any available with a more squared shape?

    Thanks
    Neil
