Hello. Can anyone help me please. I'm having trouble with my laptop.
It's running windows 7 with avast virus protection.
Avast has stopped working. It says "error during resetting the aavm subsystem. detected rpc error".
hen reinstalling Avast it says "Error reading product data from C proram file. Setup cannot continue". I have tried to Google it but nothing works.
I tried changing a few things to try and make it work and have buggered up the settings. The wifi does not pick up any signal and it says " Failed to connect to a window server.Windows could not connect to the system event notification service" I have no idea how to get it back.
I tried restting to yesterdays settings but avast does not let me do it.
Bin Avast and use Microsoft Security Essentials.
I cant bin avast as it wont let me uninstall it.
System restore?
How would I do that?

But first I'd try using the Avast uninstaller, though the WiFi issues makes me wonder if there isn't another underlying issues.. Lots of suggestions on the net about how to fix the notification service error, I'd suggest you get rid of Avast first, try installing MSE and running a scan, then install/run a Malware scanner too.
Have you backed up all of you data lately?
Windows you say? Reboot it. If that doesn't work, reboot it again. If that still doesn't work....
Sorry, not very helpful but couldn't resist 🙂
I had the same error with Avast after a system restore, using the separate uninstaller linked above allows you to uninstall it, then you can either re-install the latest version or an alternative.
Bin Avast and use Microsoft Security Essentials.
This.
The reinstallation issue could be a corrupt download; I'd suggest downloading it again but TBH you're better off with the removal tool.
Might be worth an online scan with ESET if you're still struggling just in case an infection has nobbled it; some specifically target installed AV.
