About to buy a mini Co2 inflator as a back up to my pump for when I’m doing really remote riding.

What size cartridges do I need, for single use, on trail tyres like 2.25 Nobby Nics, going to about 35psi?

16gm cart will do the trick.

Most important thing , NEVER use them with bare hands , if you haven’t got gloves , then wrap someone’s t shirt around your hands. Serious frost bite will occur otherwise !

With the inflators, watch out with the ones where you pop the cartridge in a holder as some will only take certain sizes. Halfords own brand one for example, which just takes 12g, not 16g.

Some don’t have holders and you use threaded cartridges, but as said use gloves! Some have holders and can take threaded also without the holder for bigger sizes.

p.s. for sizes 16g probably for a tube for off-road pressures. If you just want to seat a tubeless 12g will do it and I found just half of one is enough (with tubeless, let the CO2 out though and fill with air from a track pump once you have sealant in, as CO2 messes up the sealant).
