    ^^^^ this

Absolutely bonkers. Loved it. Yes it has it flaws and I could see how some would hate it but WOW! It is so different from any other film and well done to the Wachowskis for taken a big $100m gamble on this one. If only all movies coming out
    of Hollywood were this different

Off to see it at DCA this evening. Enjoyed the book and interested to see how it will translate to screen…

I’ve been given a high quality copy of it, but not found time to watch it yet. The Russian sub-titles aren’t too distracting, apparently… 😉

saw it months ago, its pretty crazy, like watching “last of the summer wine” one minute and “star wars” the next,

the extended trailer is as good as it gets, plus you get M83 Outro to listen to,

I thought it was awful, too long, the plots don’t line up our cross at all.it annoyed me.

I quite liked it – remarkably true to the book, which is a pretty impressive feat in itself.

A little scrappy and the fact that the various plots didn’t really tie together frustrated me a bit, as with the book, but generally good fun and it managed to pull off all the different genres quite convincingly.

Cannibal Hugh Grant and lady Hugo Weaving was dead weird.

It was really really bad. Was still considering turning it off half way through. It was really my sort of film as well, turns out cutting between about 6 stories with pretty much nothing to do with each other made a film with no depth.
The idea was decent enough, too many holes.
    Would not recommend.

Good film but not a patch on the book. Concentrating too much on actors and characters moving through the times rather than the objects that linked stories eg letters, music, screenplay and religion.

Just watched the trailer – it looks very ambitious

Halle Berry alone is worth the price of the cinema 🙂

really enjoyed it, not sure how well it works as a standalone film, without having read the book.first.

Yup,it’s a bit of a big ask ,to expect random film goers to tune in to all the connections .
Been re-thinking some of the bits during today ,tempted to skim/read the book again.

Not having watched the book or the film, which do you think would be best to try first?

Just seen it. Really enjoyed it. I can imagine if you’ve not read the book it could be a tad baffling.

    Sixsmith sextet works well.
