  • Click click clicliclick! Time Pedals…

I’ve always used Time. I prefer the old twin spring design of the Aliums/Roc3 but all the current ones with the exception of the caged MX2 and 4 and some caged hybrid pedals have a single central spring.

I find the squared off central spring style wear quicker than the old round spring…I can overlook that, but I cannot overlook the clicking!

I have a pair of XC2s that need an occasional drop of dry lubricant to keep them quiet, but the XC4s have started clicking… I’ve stripped them and the bearings are impressively factory fresh, I’ve prised open the spring and greased when it seats against the pedal, and the dry film lubricant on the springs.

They still click, every pedal stroke when climbing 🙁 I can reproduce it with the chain off, just weighting the pedals at a standstill.

Any ideas what else I could try? The XC2 and 4s are the newest of the lot and the only ones creating a fuss 🙁
