    Hi all , my old bike van has died 2.0 JTD , I’m looking at getting the new shape 1.6 HDI engine , I’d like to know if there’s any problems ,cheers

    Go for the bigger engine if you can – the 2.0 is more economical that the 1.6. The 1.6 is also delicate if not serviced absolutely correctly (and if that hasn’t been done to the letter before you bought it)

    Martin – Avoid the 1.6, too many problems. The pipe feeding oil to the turbo is small and blocks leading to blown turbos. The process to clean the engine fully to prevent reoccurrence is 13 hours of labour.
    All the fiat, citroen and peugeot vans use the same engine with slightly different names.
    As above 2.0 if you can.

    The new shape discpatch won’t have any of the turbo oil feed issues earlier ones had.
    I drove my company discpatch all weekend 400+ miles. If your doing big m/way miles 2.0L 6 speed is the one to go for if your not a big speed freak the 1.6 HDI is fine
