Pedantic 😀 Not at all it’s in two pieces that’s how it is.
BTW the majority of modern cars and vans OE exhausts are like this, not just Fords and have been for over 25 years. Yes it’s for mass manufacturing convenience. Thats how it is you just have to get on with it or get a professional to do it for you.
It’s standard nuts and bolts at flanged joints and yes there is a sealing ring inbetween. The weight of the exhaust works in your favour here and can sometimes be enough for you to get the nuts off without access above to hold the bolt heads, let us know how you get on.
Theres an interesting second option where you only buy the back box and next middle section and use a double clamped sleeve joint to join it to the old exhaust (if it’s not corroded) at a suitable point. Relies on you cutting the new centre piece to match up to the cut old exhaust, you can’t get it off though eh.
