    Hi,

I’ve got a creaking noise coming from a Carbon Seatpost in a Carbon Frame. I seem to recall that I have to use a special grease, is this true, and if so any recommendations, and where I can buy online.

    Thanks WipeOut

dont use normal grease , can cause the material to swell and stick.

We use finishline fibre grip in the workshop.

Ditto druidh. I think you can also get it direct from Pace if you have trouble finding it. Though when I started to use it on bikes with alu post/frames, they started creaking!? – posts didn’t slip though!

Ohh heck, I was hoping to reduce the creaking noise not increase it. 😉

Mine seems to creak with carbon grease, normal grease or no grease, this is an alloy post in a carbon Zaskar frame. The only solution I’ve found is to tighten it up as tight as I can, which I’m not a fan of doing.

The frame does look like it has some sort of aluminium shim inside so I’m not sure what sort of grease I’m supposed to be using. I’ve tried an SDG IBeam post and a Thomson post with the same results.

    Bah ;(
