If a lease car is “in stock”, does anyone know how long it takes before delivery/collection? Lease is up in a few months, and need an idea of when to start looking.

I’d rather find in stock than factory order as my last one was months overdue the delivery date. Thanks

4 weeks here, but was told when ordering it could have been up to 6. The lad who delivered it said some folks take up to 9 months(!) but assume that’s ordered in.

Last lease took 16 weeks for delivery, one before that was around 8 weeks. Most places should be able to give you an approx lead time.

Some finance companies will let you extend your current lease.

Ring them up. I’m not one for waiting and am quote flexible on what spec or colour I have, so I’d consider taking whatever they already have in stock or is on a short delivery timeframe.

I used Carwow and they were great. Which directed me to Zen car leasing who have also been very good.

I had to wait 2 weeks for my ‘in stock’ Lease car from Leaseplan, something about the cooling off period.

Ours from Tusker was 4-6 weeks  longer than we were told when we placed the order , and that date was a couple of months longer than the ‘webpage date’ listed when we were looking,  but they provided an alternative car for that time period as our own car didn’t end up lasting until then.

I’d take any date given  with a large pinch of salt, and definitely not the estimate on the webpage.

Backing up what others have said, mine was around 6 weeks and longer than expected. Mine was salary sacrifice though so from memory the delay was down to administration between the parties involved (Work/Lease/Garage).

My main pointer would be that if it is ‘in stock’ make sure you are getting an absolutely banging good deal on it.

Paying the same for a stock car as one would for a factory order is a mugs game!

There’s usually some slightly better pricing for in stock – but there’s enough people who don’t want to wait 3/6/9 months for a factory order that the market is not quite as attractive as you think it should be.   My experience has been 2-5 weeks.   I seem to recall if I wanted to collect it could be shorter.

depends on time of year too. My last company car came in 2 weeks on a good lease deal as it had been pre-registered and new regs were a month away.
