Campingaz CV470 Party Grill reverse adaptor

So a few years ago I bought a Campingaz Party Grill 400CV for camping duties. It’s great for that purpose, but I doesn’t half eat through the CV470 gas cylinders. Back when I bought it you could get a pack of 4 cylinders in Argos for £20 so not too bad. That is now £35 which stings a bit. Looks to be about £8 per cylinder is the going price these days.

Now I wish I had bought the non-CV version and invested in a small refillable gas cylinder instead. So what I’m looking for now is a way of converting the CV one to take a hose and regulator, but my google skills are letting me down and I can’t find any such adaptor in existence. What I want is something that will attach to the easy-clic fitting on the bottom of the stove and then have the nozzle to fit a hose to. My amazing design skills are below for concept visualisation…. (adaptor not drawn to scale of the stove)

Does anyone know of such a thing? Or any other way of achieving this on a budget? I could go and buy the non-CV version for £100 but that just seems like a waste.

Anybody? Nobody? I thought there’d be at least one person here coming to tell me I’ll blow up the whole campsite if I try to do this.

Impressed with my Party Gas BBQ, but I’m about to change the Camping Gaz adapter on my two burner/grill for a BBQ Gas adapter, as we’re away for a week, and a 10kg refill is £50 vs the same for my 904 Camping Gaz bottle, which has 1.8kg.

Must say I’m not doing too bad with the 470 cartridges – getting 3-4 days cooking and heating water whilst ‘off grid’.

I have found multiple adapters to enable you to use CV cannister’s on either 904/907 or standard propanes but not the other way around

Must say I’m not finding anything that converts to the click fit from bigger cans – only screw cans to click and visa versa. Camping Gas does have an adapter that uses CV and standard screw cans but not for fitting to a click fit burner.

Thanks. Yeah I can find plenty of options to do it the other way round but not this way annoyingly.

On that T6 thread – I did see that on the exploded diagrams the burners are different but just assumed that was to do with the connector being at the front on the non-CV version rather than directly underneath. It’s a shame because my dad has an old 907 cylinder that he doesn’t use anymore that would have been perfect for this.

The burner on the version that takes a CV canister will be designed to use gas at high pressure (30 PSI+) direct from the canister.

The burner on the ‘907’ version will be designed to use gas at 29 mBar (~0.4PSI) supplied by the regulator that fits to the top of the ‘907’ style cylinders.

I really doubt that they would be interchangeable, even if you could adapt the fitting.

I think the issue is High Pressure to Low pressure is possible but what you want it Low Pressure to High Pressure – there is no way to increase the pressure from a Low Pressure source to power a High Pressure burner.

It’s also annoying that there doesn’t seem to be a good spares supplier online. Found the bits (burner and controls) on a Dutch website that would cost more than just buying a new one. Also not sure if it included the bit to attached the hose or not.

we’ve got a party grill with a hose, it didn’t come with the regulator, possibly even not the hose (can’t remember on that) – we have a calor hose on ours and it’s done 5 summers so far with camping for a week as our only cooking source each year.

no idea if you can convert them – I imagine you’ll need the spare bits as you describe. Maybe look for a trashed second hand one and franken build a good one out of the bits?
