I'm looking for something that can look after a camera (high end compact, not DSLR) that's easy and quick

Am thinking chest located, so stop riding, glove off and whip camera out for the shot

Anyone have the solution?

Cheers!

That's an unusual bit of kit, but I was thinking of a bag which gives protection

I've got a Mindshift Trail. Holds a Fuji XT1 with 18-135mm, 2L camelback, super quick access & excellent protection. I've tested the protection.

Thanks, but that looks too big for what I'm after

It's a small Fuji I have

Stem Cell? There's an XL as well but the standard size is fine for something like a Canon G10

Samsonite Trekking range of bags are very good. We have one that is fastened to the cross strap on the back pack. Has served us well for years.

Ok then, I used a Lowe Dashpoint 20 for my Fuji X10, sat on the shoulder strap nicely.

For the Tour DIvide I used my jersey pocket. It worked well. Almost like it was designed to hold things.

I also used a Apidura feed bag. Sony RX100 was fine after.

This Vaude Epoc pouch is good for a small camera. https://www.evanscycles.com/vaude-epoc-kit-bag-EV197846

You might get away with the Dashpoint 10.

I use an Apidura top tube bag with a bit of pipe lagging on the top tube underneath it for padding.

Keeps my Fuji x100s accessible and pretty well protected.

Was thinking of a bars bag (Jones Loop bars), but thought that's just too much knocking about esp with a rigid fork

The Dashpoint 10 is favourite so far

Lowe Dashpoint is the correct answer.
