I’ve been a British Cycling member for 5 years after I got into the way of the two wheeled universe when I managed to wangle early retirement a while back, purely for the insurance and discounts – not interested in competition, I ride solely for fun in my own company. However, they have been getting so much criticism of late that this article https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/54993214 feels like the last straw for me and it feels sort of hypocritical to keep giving them my money ie supporting them. I realise that there are always many different aspects to these articles/reports but no smoke without fire?
Anyone have any direct experience of insurance support from Cycling UK as I’m sure I remember reading a comment from someone a while ago (not necessarily on here) that the claims support system from CUK wasn’t on a par with BC? Irrespective I think it’s time to jump ship anyway.
