Afternoon, has anyone seen a service kit for a 27.2 brand x dropper post recently? I need the “keys” as it has developed quite a lot of play.

    Thanks!

I asked a mate at an LBS that sells Ascend (which I think are the same) as I need a service kit for a 31.6 internal, and he said it’s getting hard to find supply, hotlines who I think did all the parts, aren’t trading anymore.

dammit thought I’d hit onto a winner on ebay, only to find there all the parts are sold out.

Also, the last kit I bought, the keys/lozenges were the wrong size.

Could you measure them and substitute generic dowel / parallel pins?

Also, there are still a few cartridge kits knocking around which look like they contain the keys (although may not be the right size).

Evans took the leftover hotlines stuff, I think they were selling what they had left from one of their manchester stores? might be worth giving them a call

Some of the other posts from one up, pnw, transx, shimano are essentially the same. But very hard to figure out which is which! In the same boat where I’d like to change the keys on mine but can’t figure out which is which!

None of the cartridges I’ve bought had the keys in them; just seen them in the service kits with the seals/bushings.

Thanks all for the advice. Evans actually have a new one in stock but £100 when a £10 service kit would work feels a bit daft.

I was under the impression that brand x droppers were tranzx posts. That initially tranzx were just OEM manufacturers and eventually decided to sell under their own name. So shouldn’t a trawl of the tranzx site find the correct parts

What shape are the keys? I bought a Pro Koryak service kit for my BX post a few years ago after a recommendation that it would fit. I ended up getting a warranty replacement so never used the kit.

Can’t remember whether mine was a 30.9 or 31.6 but it definitely wasn’t a 27.9 so I’m guessing the bushes and wiper seal are useless but if the keys fit, you’re welcome to the kit.
