Saw em in the mid 70's, fantastic. Always thought Bon was better than the new(still to me)guy. True rock and roll way to die, drown in your own vomit.

I was 12 and dimly recall it so I never saw them being fronted by him. I did see them when I was 14 or 15 (For Those About To Rock tour) and again last year on the Black Ice tour.

But I would gladly trade both of those (and many more live gigs I have seen) in to see them as dirty little kids playing a tiny uni hall or maybe the famous Paris gig.

It is amazing how they managed to find a Geordie with such a similar vocal style to an Aussie though (okay, so he was a Scot, but he WAS young when he moved to the criminal's island).

    Respect.

They haven't done too badly without him though.

One of the few proper singers in the genre, likes of 'Ride On' showed his melodic side. Much preferred that to Johnsons yelling. I think the lyrics were slightly better quality in Bon's tenure too…

…time to go & hunt out the 'Let There Be Rock' video…

Just finished the Highway to Hell album, I had forgotten how much I liked Night Prowler.

The guitarist in our office is just playing it through, on my Strat … I really must learn to play it one day …. no Gibson SG in the office

is he employed as a guitarist to entertain the office?

    Cool work.

Just had it on shuffle on my iPod as I walked around town – lots of bootleg live stuff as well as all the albums etc. I could easily listen to them all day but the rest of the office will get a bit bored 🙁

He's supposed to make money too … I think an extended lunchbreak in honour of Bon Scott.

    It is Friday afternoon 🙂

In theory I am working, I guess in practice I am looking at STW

High Voltage (the album) proper raw rock n'roll! The man was rock n'roll personified and his lyrics pure genius…….. Although I still love the band – their lyrical content is pretty keich these days! Come to think of it apart from the odd gem, their songs are pretty keich altogether these days!

Highway to Hell and If You Want Blood… two of my favourite albums.

Ufck Bon Scott – Lionel Ritchie and Lionel Blair have both died!

    Apparently.

But it might have been Brian Blessed.

"Powerage" was the best album they ever made. I saw AC/DC on that tour in may 78 and again in november 78. Brilliant both times. 30 years since Bon died seems unreal!

I was 15 and a big AC/DC fan (still am), I remember my mate phoning me with the news that Bon SCott had died – I was gutted.

Much though I like the later stuff, Bon-era AC/DC will never be bettered.

    RIP

Crikey there was a lot of us 14 when he died, Dirty deeds done dirt cheap & She's Got Balls always raises a smile & Touch to Much is one of my all time top tunes.

Spooky thing was it was on my iPod last night as I went to sleep!

    I think you'll find it's 'If you want blood…. you've got it'
