Neighbours picked up a boardman cx bike and the gears won’t shift into the big front ring. Typical halfords set up I guess! It’s a double set-up – all gears shift fine on the small ring.

I’ve had a play with the FRONT barrell adjuster but that doesn’t seem to have helped.

Would the limiter screws be the next port of call?

I’m a bit reluctant to mess with them as I’ll likely end up doing more harm than good so I’ve told him he’s best popping it back to the store to get it sorted but thought id ask if you guys have any advice that might save us the bother so we can sort it ourselves….

It will be your limiting screw that needs adjustment that’s all , adjust your H screw

All Boardman bikes are set up (in theory) by better qualified mechanics than the usual Halford cronies. However it is likely that the limit screw is not set correctly and so a quick fiddle should sort it out.
