    Hi all,

Looking to lighten up my current gear. Looking for a sleeping bag (2 or 3 season) that packs up small (sub 750g?) and is suitable for all 195cm of me. Alpkit Ultra 80/120 size long at £200 seems to tick the boxes – what else should I consider? Will be using it for tent/bivvy/hammock duties depending on the trip.

Also, looking for a frame bag for a 2014 orange segment (the type with the curvy top tube). And recommendations appreciated!

Also @scotroutes I think you’re involved in the Tour of the Cairngorms route – I’ve done the inner loop before, and am planning a 2-day jaunt round the outer loop. My reading would suggest it’s mostly gravel type riding?

    Cheers

If you’ve done the inner loop then the outer will be reasonably easy for you, even if it’s actually longer. Gravel bike covers most of it without drama. I think the roughest section might be along the Gaick at Loch an Duin but that’s pretty short.

(FWIW I’m no longer running the Cairngorms Loop page/event)
